What a Crazy Busy Week!

Hey All!!

WHAT A WEEK!! This week has been so crazy. We have been jam packed with meetings and teaching and all kinds of things. I feel like we have literally been running to and fro from things.. And we have!!

To start off the week.. Last Tuesday we had the awesome opportunity to meet President Mutumbo and his wife. I know without a doubt from the feelings I had that day that he is called of God. And that he was prepared since before the world was, to be here at this time and this place to further the work of Salvation. He brought his 5 kids over and the smallest one is so cool!! His wife barely speaks English.. But she is trying really hard. She wants to communicate with us so Bad! But He came in with so much fire. He came with ideas and received Revelation on a new vision for our mission! He received instruction from the first presidency and brought all of it with him! His new vision is to do Everything with seeing the end from the Beginning. He is focusing on the family and working with members. He wants the members to be the best finders. He wants our mission and our missionaries to be the best finders and teachers. He also came and gave us a challenge from an Apostle of the Lord. Elder Ballard, told President Mutumbo that if each companionship would talk to 20 people a day.. Each companionship would have 5-10 Baptisms each month. Now.. That is a promise from an Apostle. So.. Elder Jackson and I Ran with it. In 4 days we talked to 78 people, we placed 23 Book of Mormons, we taught 18 lessons, and picked up 5 new investigators and even put one of them on date for Baptism. Truly an inspired promise and challenge given to us. We have seen the fruit of our labors. Amazing miracles mission wide.

We also did all of this in the blazing hot heat and humidity. For 11 days straight here it has been 95° and 100% humidity.. I don't know if any of you know what that feels like.. But let's just say you walk out the door and you are instantly wet and sweaty.. Elder Jackson was sweating right through his pants.. No joke hahahaHaha

We also had quite an experience this week.. A lady called us and says: "Is this the Church people?" we reply with yes.. And she begins to cry and says: "I need you now!" she then proceeds to say that her house is filled with evil spirits and she needs us now. So we set up a time and meet her. We took a member with us. I've got to say.. That is an experience I will never forget. The feelings of that house when we walked in were spine tingling and back wrenching.. But the feelings when we left were warm and peaceful. The power of the Priesthood and Jesus Christ are so real!!! Amazing stuff.. The details of the story will be contained in the weekly letter home ;)

Our ward here is awesome! They are so on top of things and organized. They are the nicest people ever too! I'm so blessed to be here and grateful for the opportunity to serve here. I have already learned so much and my testimony has grown so much in the last 2 weeks!

The area is full of corn fields.. Not even joking. Our area covers a lot of little areas and towns. We cover towns like Red Lion and Shrewsbury and Stewartstown and New Freedom and Delta and Jacobus and more! So we are pretty spread out. We have quite a bit of active members too! Pennsylvania.. Like Cumberland.. has churches on every corner. Everyone has their own church and it's pretty crazy out here. The apostasy is so real. If you want a testimony of the apostasy.. Just come to the east coast for a day and you will see.

We also had MLC this week which stands for Mission Leadership Council and that was good as well! We talked more about President Mutumbos new vision for the mission and all of that!! I even got to eat at Cafe Rio at the end of the day!

Thanks for the update on home.. Looks like the west is on fire! That's so crazy! Hopefully all starts to settle down and goes back to good Ole Evanston! Have a great week! I love and miss you and thank you for all you do! I miss you tons! Love ya!

Love, Elder Welling!
